The Good News

The Good News.

Wake up Now

We’ve got to preach the Gospel that is right,

Teach the truth, with the Lord’s might.

Take up the sword the word of God,

Take up the shield with faith in God.

Wear righteousness as your breastplate,

Gird your waist with truth before it is too late.

Wear on your head head with the helmet of salvation,

Prepare your feet to take the Gospel to all nations.

Wake up now, child of God,

Strengthen your heart and your soul.

Wake up now, child of God,

Put on God’s whole armour now.

Part I

We all want to know the reason that we are here on earth. We all need to know what God has planned for us individually. After all, we have to live with it; to “walk the talk”.

The Bible says that God has made everything beautiful in its time and that God has placed eternity in our hearts.

With that in mind, we are going tell you a fascinating story about the plan and purpose God, our Heavenly Father, has for us. This portrays God’s unconditional love and grace, the true Gospel.

His name is Jesus,

  • He fulfils God’s Plan.
  • He is the Good News; the Gospel.

Stand strong in the power of His might,

We are more than conquerors in Christ.

Don’t look back fight the good fight,

It is time for you and me to set things right.

Lift your eyes and look at the fields,

Broken-hearted people needing to be healed.

For the harvest is ready but the workers are few,

Jesus Christ is calling on you.

Wake up now, child of God,

Strengthen your heart and your soul.

Wake up now, child of God,

Put on God’s whole armour now.

The Creation (I)

In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth.

Then God made man

Everything was at peace.

All was at rest.

But there was trouble brewing.

Jesus on my mind

The Fall (II)

God told man to not eat the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.

  • This was in a garden, east of Eden.
  • Man’s job was to make this garden grow.

Sadly, a talking serpent deceived Eve, the first woman into eating of that tree.

  • Not only that, she gave it to Adam, the first man, her husband, who also ate that fruit.

God was disappointed with mankind because of the sin which entered human life as we know it. Therefore, God had to expel Adam and Eve from that garden.

  • I’ll explain more, but don’t worry, it is not paradise lost,
  • For in Jesus Christ, we gain it all back, and more.

Father, Abba Father,
Hallowed be thy name;
Thy Kingdom come;
on earth as in Heaven.

Heaven on my mind

I said, Father, Heavenly Father,

What a sweet time we had.

This hymn of faith

Keeps You on my mind

Heaven on my mind

Other things reach out to me

Other eyes smile so deceptively

Still when I think of You I see

The way that leads back to You

That is made by You.

Sadly, human beings disobeyed God and had sinned.

  • causing death and suffering to enter our lives.
  • We had fallen short of the standard set by God for us.

And though this happened, God desires to restore our relationship with Him,

He is our Heavenly Father.

Other names reach out to me

Other mouths talk so deceptively

Still in peaceful dreams I see

The way that leads back to You

That leads back to you

My Saviour,

My only hope

No other peace I find

You’re as bright and clear

as sunshine through the clouds

Sunshine through the clouds

My Redeemer,

My Jesus,

No other name I find

A promise of hope

Keeps You in my mind.

Jesus on my mind.

Just this faith-filled song

keeps Jesus on my mind.

Jesus on my mind.

Part II

Nobody’s fault but mine

God desires only good for us, but because the serpent deceived Eve into eating that fruit,

  • God cursed the serpent more than all the cattle,
  • And God put enmity between the serpent’s children and her children.

Eve’s sorrow was greatly multiplied as a result.

  • “In pain you will give birth, God said.
  • You will desire to take your husband’s role, instead of being his helper.
  • He shall resist every move you make, not only that, he is going to try to rule over you, instead of treating you as an equal, instead of loving you unconditionally as only I can”

God said all this because it was the result of eating that forbidden fruit.

God cursed the ground because of what man had done,

  • Toil, sweat, and tears were introduced to Adam,
  • because he listened to the voice of his wife, instead of obeying God’s commandment
  • By eating from the tree of which God told him not to eat of it.

It’s nobody’s fault but mine

Nobody’s fault but mine

If I rebel and my spirit be dead,

It’s nobody’s fault but mine.

It’s nobody’s fault but mine

Nobody’s fault but mine

If I don’t listen to what God has said,

It’s nobody’s fault but mine.

From that moment, they became mere mortal human beings.

For death, with its sting, started ruling

  • as a result of man’s disobedience to God.

As we said before, God drove mankind out of that Garden,

He placed an angel at the east of the garden of Eden,

and a flaming sword to guard the way to the tree of life,

  • in case other beings get to access it,
  • and give it to humans, thus making man unredeemable by Jesus the Christ, God’s Messiah, our Saviour.

It’s nobody’s fault but mine

Nobody’s fault but mine

If I rebel and my soul be lost

It’s nobody’s fault but mine.

It’s nobody’s fault but mine

Nobody’s fault but mine

If I don’t listen to what God has said,

It’s nobody’s fault but mine.

Man’s descendants continued to sin,

  • So God sent a flood that wiped out all that He had created and not created.
  • Except for Noah and his family, who escaped the flood along with selected animals in an ark that God told Noah to build.

The generation after that flood built a city and a tower because they felt they could do without their creator God’

  • They did not want to be scattered, and wanted to create a name for themselves,
  • They had one language and one speech, and wanted to continue in this deceived unity,
  • in direct defiance of God our creator.

Got a Bible in my church

A Bible in my home

But if I don’t read it to renew my mind,

It’s nobody’s fault but mine.

Got a Bible in my church

A Bible in my home

But if I don’t read it and my soul be lost,

It’s nobody’s fault but mine.

Therefore, to remove this corrupted deceived unity

  • God the creator, our Father in heaven,
  • confused human language and
  • scattered them all over the face of the earth,
  • until the Lord Himself sets things right,
  • through Jesus the Messiah, the Promised Savior.

After that judgment, God left a majority of the humans to their own devices and instead chose Abraham,

  • a man from whom came the nation of Israel,
  • from whom came Jesus our savior,
  • who reconciled us to our God.

My Jesus died for me

He set the captives free

If I don’t put my faith in Christ,

It’s nobody’s fault but mine.

It’s nobody’s fault but mine

Nobody’s fault but mine

If I don’t put my faith in Christ,

It’s nobody’s fault but mine.

Meanwhile sin in the fallen humanity started showing its true nature, which resulted in a great outcry against some of them, because their sin was very serious.

  • Therefore, God had to destroy Sodom and Gomorrah.

I wish the misdeeds of the fallen humans ended there

But it continues even today, for we live in a fallen world.

  • Even Israel, whom God had chosen, did what was right in their own eyes, instead of being right by God, our maker.

Though I know right from wrong

Though I think that I’m strong

If I don’t get my heart set right,

It’s nobody’s fault but mine.

If by reason my soul be lost,

It’s nobody’s fault but mine.

My Jesus died for me

He set the captives free

If by reason my soul be lost,

It’s nobody’s fault but mine.

If I don’t tell and a soul be lost

Nobody’s fault but mine.

Nobody’s fault but mine.

Nobody’s fault but mine.

Part III

The Promise (III)

All of My Heart

God’s got our back!!!  The glory of the Lord is our rear guard.

  • For the LORD takes pleasure in His people;
  • He will beautify the humble with salvation.

See, it was revealed from the fall of mankind that God Himself would become our Savior;

  • a new hope rising out Israel,
  • to set you and me free.

But then, for man to understand the futility of his situation,

  • God had to reveal His standard
  • Which also served as our guardian until His Christ came,
  • So, God revealed His Law to through Moses.

You lead me I’ll follow
My path I won’t go
All of my days
With all of my heart
I’ll only follow You

Your word in heart
That guides my path
All of my days
With all of my heart
I’ll only follow You

You are Holy
You are Holy
You are Holy
I trust in You.

The Redemption (IV)

When the fullness of the time had come, God sent His Son,

  • Jesus the Christ or the Messiah, our Savior;

Jesus Christ was God and yet mortal because He was born of a woman,

  • He died on the Cross as a ransom for you and me.
  • By dying, Jesus paid the price for the sin
  • He reconciled us to God, our Father in Heaven.

Because Jesus was sinless,

  • Death could not hold on to Him
  • So, on the third day, He rose from the dead.

Jesus is alive now, and to enable us to follow Jesus,

  • Our Father empowered us with the same Holy Spirit of God that raised Jesus Christ from the dead.

God’s Child

Through the valleys and the storms

And through the simmering fires

Though my heart may falter

I go through yeah, yeah I go through

I am God’s Child

Redeemed Born again

I am God’s Child

I am free in Jesus name

In His name I believed

The Son of God has set me free

Now I own eternity

That’s guaranteed oh yeah…

I am God’s Child – Redeemed Born again

I am God’s Child – The Son of God has set me free

I am God’s Child – The Holy Spirit lives in me

I am God’s Child – I am gonna set them captives free, yeah

I am God’s Child

Tell me again

Through Adam’s offense, death reigned supremely,

Jesus conquered death, which lost its grip eternally.

I wish the misdeeds of the fallen humans ended there, but it continues even today when instead of accepting God’s solution through Jesus, we carry on with our lives, trying to hang on with our strength

Jesus took away the sin of the world, so that we can be strong in that freedom and liberty.

The Good news doesn’t end with that, no…

Jesus is coming back soon!

Hey brother won’t you tell me again,

About the faith, the love and the gain

All right now, Hallelujah

All right, Praise the Lord.

Hey sister, lay your burdens down,

Not your will, but His be done

All right now, Hallelujah

All right, Praise the Lord.

Tell me the good news again

Good News again

Preach it again

Good News again

The hope that it brings,

Freedom reigns

Tell me again,

 Good News again

Crucified,

Good News again

He rose again

Freedom reigns

What’s the good news again

Good News again

Preach it again

Good News again

The hope that it brings,

Freedom reigns

Tell me again,

 Good News again

Crucified,

Good News again

He’s comin’ again

Freedom reigns

This is the Gospel, the Good News, in a nutshell.

  • Jesus saves us from eternal damnation.
  • Jesus reconciles us to God, our Father in Heaven
  • For “whoever calls on the name of the LORD shall be saved.”

Hey stranger, don’t you know it’s true,

God gave His life for you,

All right now, He’s coming again.

Ready or not, He’s coming for you.

He’s coming soon.

Tell me the good news again

Good News again

Preach it again

Good News again

The hope that it brings,

Freedom reigns

Tell me again,

Good News again

Crucified,

Good News again

He rose again

Freedom reigns

What’s the good news again

Good News again

Preach it again

Good News again

The hope that it brings,

Freedom reigns

Tell me again,

Good News again

Crucified,

Good News again

He rose again

The Restoration (V)

Jesus owns the Book of Life,

Jesus gives us Eternal Life,

We will gather with Him,

  • if our name is in the Book of Life.
  • At the end of this age,
  • to live forever.

His Name is Jesus

Who gives us hope when we have none,

Who gives us joy which is our strength,

Who gives us peace in times of trouble,

Who gives us faith where there is none?

His name is Jesus, and He saves,

He is the Savior of us all,

He is our hope, joy and peace,

He is faithful to the end,

We’ve got to repent

believe in the true God

who sent His only son,

the begotten one,

Jesus Christ our Lord.

God, my Heavenly Father, invites you to reign in life through Jesus Christ,

  • To receive abundance of His grace and His gift of righteousness,
  • To be bound for eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord,
  • Because He loves you,
  • Because He is True Love.

Who brings light where there is darkness,

Who brings life to ashes,

Who gives our existence purpose,

Who gives us this song of deliverance?

His name is Jesus, and He saves,

He is the Savior of us all,

He is our hope, joy and peace,

He is faithful to the end,

We’ve got to repent

believe in the true God

who sent His only son,

the begotten one,

Jesus Christ our Lord.

Do you know that in the end Jesus will give all things to His Father.

Trust the God that so loves you

  • that He gave His only begotten Son,
  • Jesus
  • whoever calls on the name of the LORD shall be saved.
  • whoever believes in Jesus will not perish but have everlasting life.

Amen.

He is coming back soon to gather His own,

I’ll make sure that I belong.

In this world fallen,

plenty of things are wrong,

Hang in there,

there are souls to be won.

His name is Jesus, and He saves,

He is the Savior of us all,

He is our hope, joy and peace,

He is faithful to the end,

We’ve got to repent

believe in the true God

who sent His only son,

the begotten one,

Jesus Christ our Lord.
